Drone Downed Near Erbil International Airport, no causalities reported

ERBIL, December 27– In the vicinity of Gazna and Daraban villages, located near Erbil International Airport, locals reported two loud noises.

A Daraban village resident told 964media that, “At 7:55 pm, two loud noises were heard. Upon inquiry, people in Ashokan village reported a drone crash, providing no further details but said it occurred approximately three kilometers away.”

The Kurdistan Counter Terrorism Directorate (CTD) published the following statement:

The Kurdistan Counter Terrorism Directorate (CTD) reports that a drone was successfully shot down by the international coalition forces near the village of Ashokan in Erbil’s Bahrka district on tonight at 19:50 p.m. No casualties were reported in the incident.

At 9:00 p.m., the “Islamic Resistance” outlaw group claimed responsibility for the attack.
