Christmas holiday only for the Christians

BAGHDAD, December 24 — The government media office stated that the official holiday for the Christmas celebrations on the upcoming Monday and Tuesday will only apply to members of the Christian community.

Haidar Majid, the spokesperson for the government media office, said:

Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani directed during the regular session of the Cabinet that the 25th and 26th of this December be an official holiday exclusively for citizens of the Christian community, in celebration of the Christmas holidays.

Government offices will operate officially on the mentioned Monday and Tuesday for the rest of the communities, excluding members of the Christian community.
