Erbil prepares for veterans’ football carnival and match

ERBIL, December 25 — Erbil is poised to host a sports carnival aimed at veteran Iraqi football players, featuring a friendly match that will bring together former stars from Iraq and Erbil.

Nariman Mohammed, a football star from the 1970s and 1980s, revealed to 964 that the event is scheduled for December 26.

Franco Hariri Stadium will host both the sports carnival and the friendly match, marking a collaboration between the General Directorate of Sports and the Kurdistan Football Federation. Mohammed extended an invitation to all veteran players from the Erbil team, particularly those aged 50 and over, in a bid to encourage broad participation in the sporting event.
