Erbil residents pay highest generator fees in the region
ERBIL, August 2 – Residents in the Kurdistan region’s capital paid the most for electricity from private generators in July compared to their peers in other cities.
Higher demand and a drop in supply from the national grid were blamed for the spike in prices last month, while residents in Garmiyan district reportedly paid the least among the Kurdistan region’s cities and towns.
The price per ampere in the Kurdistan region ranged between 55 and 58 Iraqi dinars per hour, with Erbil residents on average paying 15,000 dinars per month for access to private generators.
