Voting underway in provincial council elections
Al-Khazali assures electronic counting glitches won’t affect election results
BAGHDAD, December 18 — The leader of Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq, Qais al-Khazali, said on Monday that any breakdowns of electronic counting devices will not impact the provincial council’s election results.
Al-Khazali delivered his remarks after casting his vote at the Hotel Al-Rasheed in Baghdad:
Issues with transmitting election results have occurred before, and the company has promised to resolve them. The problem with transmission is technical and will not affect the election results. The failure of electronic counting devices will not impact the election results. We call on the Iraqi people to participate widely in the elections.
