Al-Sudani declares official holiday for Yazidi Feast of the Fast

BAGHDAD, December 12 — Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani has directed the official closure of government offices for the Yazidi community on the occasion of the Feast of Fast.

The Cabinet’s press office issued a statement which read:

Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani has declared an official holiday for the Yazidi community on the occasion of the Yazidi Feast of Fast (Rojiyen Ezi). The holiday is observed on the first Friday of December in the Eastern calendar and precedes it by three days each year. This year, it falls on December 12-15, 2023.
