Erbil faces elevated air pollution, passing threshold for normal levels

ERBIL, December 12 — A white fog settles over Erbil most mornings, enveloping the city in a cloud of pollution.

Air pollution indicators rose to an average of 154 this week, surpassing the threshold for moderate and normal levels set at 50 degrees.

According to reports from IQAir, numbers can vary by neighborhood, with the Park View area reaching 161 degrees, Sarwaran neighborhood at 155 degrees, Serbesti neighborhood at 154 degrees, and Ainkawa at 139 degrees.
