Five governorates at 46°C with Sulaymaniyah coolest at 39°C
BAGHDAD — Maysan, Najaf, Dhi Qar, Muthanna and Basra are forecast to reach 46°C on Saturday, with Baghdad at 45°C, the Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology said.
Karbala, Anbar, Salah al-Din, Wasit, Babil and Diwaniyah are expected at 44 to 45°C, Kirkuk 43°C, Nineveh 42°C, Erbil 41°C, Duhok 40°C and Sulaymaniyah 39°C.
Skies will be clear across most of the country with cloud over the mountains in the Kurdistan Region, and temperatures similar to Friday. Winds will be light and variable at 5 to 10 km/h with calm periods. Visibility will be 8 to 10 km, falling to 5 to 7 km in the morning because of haze and raised pollutant levels.
