Kurdistan Region inaugurates flour mill in Semele

DUHOK, November 19 — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) opened a flour mill in the Semele district, west of Duhok, on Sunday evening. The facility has a storage capacity of up to 53,000 tons of wheat, and it is expected to generate employment for approximately 250 individuals.

The “Dustar” flour mill, located in the Semele district of Duhok Province, was inaugurated in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani. The project, with a cost of $22 million, boasts a storage capacity of 52,300 tons of wheat.

The initiative creates 250 job opportunities for the youth in the region and has the capacity to produce 500 tons of flour monthly.

The mill’s opening coincides with the laying of the foundation for two strategic projects by the Prime Minister, aiming to develop the industrial sector and enhance economic infrastructure, providing over 5,000 job opportunities.
