Nechirvan Barzani meets SDF commander Mazloum Abdi for talks on Syria and Kurdish dialogue

ERBIL — Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Syrian Democratic Forces Commander Mazloum Abdi on Tuesday for talks on the situation in Syria, regional security and Kurdish political dialogue.

Both sides emphasized “the importance of maintaining stability and confronting the threat of terrorism,” according to a statement from the Kurdistan Region Presidency. The meeting also stressed the importance of dialogue among Kurdish factions in Syria to resolve their issues with Damascus.

Abdi expressed gratitude for Barzani’s continued support for the rights of Kurds and other communities in Syria.
