Iraq condemns Israeli bombing near Jordanian hospital in Gaza
BAGHDAD, November 16 — The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Israeli shelling near the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza on Thursday. The Ministry expressed outrage at Israel’s ongoing violations targeting hospitals and endangering medical personnel, deeming it a reprehensible crime and a clear violation of international humanitarian law.
In a statement received by 964, the Ministry said:
The Ministry denounced the continuous violations by the occupying Israeli authorities, particularly the shelling near the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza. The attack resulted in injuries to hospital staff as they attempted to assist Palestinians wounded by the relentless bombardment.
The persistent violations by the occupying Israeli authority against hospitals, jeopardizing medical teams, are considered unacceptable and condemned. They represent a blatant and serious breach of international humanitarian law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed its solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and called on the UN Security Council and the international community to intervene urgently to halt these violations targeting hospitals, medical infrastructure, and their personnel.
