Airstrikes hit PMF positions in Babil, Anbar and Nineveh with no casualties reported

BAGHDAD — Airstrikes targeted Popular Mobilization Forces positions in Babil, Anbar and Nineveh governorates Tuesday, the PMF said, reporting no casualties.

The PMF said the 45th Brigade in the Jurf al-Nasr sector in Babil was struck three times at midnight, while a separate strike hit a site of the 31st Brigade in the Karma sector east of Anbar. A third strike at 10:30 a.m. hit the 30th Brigade headquarters within the Nineveh Operations sector. The group described all strikes as joint U.S.-Israeli attacks and said forces “continue to carry out their security duties with resilience” despite repeated targeting.

The strikes add to a mounting toll on Iraqi security forces. On Saturday, two police officers were killed in a strike on the First Emergency Police Regiment in Mosul, including the regiment commander, while a second strike wounded five personnel evacuating the injured. Separate strikes the same day killed three PMF members and wounded four in Kirkuk. Earlier in the week, consecutive strikes on Habbaniyah base in Anbar killed 22 military personnel over two days, including seven in a strike on the base’s military clinic.

Neither the United States nor Israel has publicly claimed responsibility for any of the strikes.
