Stable, clear conditions across Iraq ahead of expected rain

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s General Authority for Meteorology announced Saturday that stable and clear weather is prevailing across the country due to the influence of a surface high-pressure system.

In its report. the authority said skies will remain mostly clear, with some scattered clouds appearing in limited areas of the northern region. It added that temperatures are expected to remain similar to Friday’s levels in central and southern Iraq, while slightly rising in the north. Cold conditions are expected during the early morning and nighttime hours.

The authority noted that the coming days will bring a drop in temperatures accompanied by a wave of rainfall.

Winds will be northwesterly, light to moderate, ranging between 10 and 20 km/h, with periods of relative calm. Horizontal visibility is expected to range between 8 and 10 kilometers.
