Light rain, thunder forecast in parts of southern and central Iraq

BAGHDAD — Iraq is experiencing varying weather conditions across its regions on Tuesday, with cloud cover and chances of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in the south and parts of the central region, according to the General Meteorological Authority.

The northern and remaining central regions are seeing mostly clear skies with some cloud formation. Fog is expected to form overnight in parts of Erbil and Duhok.

Temperatures are slightly lower than Monday, with a drop of 4 to 5 degrees Celsius in the southern region. The central and northern regions are also recording a slight decrease.

Northwesterly winds, light to moderate at 10 to 20 kilometers per hour, become calmer in the southeast.

Horizontal visibility ranges between 8 to 10 kilometers generally but decreases in the morning due to haze.
