Authorized dealerships surge as Iraqi buyers seek transparency, warranties, and easy financing

NAJAF — Authorized car dealerships are steadily gaining ground over traditional used-car showrooms across Iraq as more buyers seek transparent pricing, long-term warranties, and installment options. Once rare due to unstable conditions, official dealerships are now expanding rapidly, led by Chinese automakers reporting growing sales and nationwide branch openings.

Marketing managers told 964media that consumer confidence in used-car showrooms is declining amid unclear pricing and unreliable sales practices. Authorized dealerships, by contrast, attract buyers with genuine warranties, official specifications, and flexible payment plans, including options for private-sector employees.

Mustafa Adel, a sales consultant for GAC, said: “We’ve seen a surge in demand for GAC vehicles recently thanks to our special offers and the proven quality of our cars in the Iraqi market. Customers have tried our vehicles and found comfort and high performance, which strengthened their trust.”

Adel said GAC models start at 24 million dinars ($17,100) and reach 57 million dinars ($40,700) for the hybrid GS8, while the M8 is priced similarly. “We thank God that our sales continue to increase day by day, reflecting customers’ satisfaction and trust,” he said.

Hussein Ali, a representative of Raya Al-Mustaqbal Company, said: “Customers are turning to our brand because of the quality of our vehicles, competitive offers, and confidence in our products and services.” He noted prices range from 18.9 million dinars ($13,500) for the Dongfeng Fengshen A30 to 82.5 million dinars ($58,900) for the ROX 01, with warranties covering both mileage and years.

Ali said installment plans requiring only a 5% down payment have “significantly boosted sales.”

At GWM, sales consultant Ali Mohammed said: “We always provide a distinctive selection of cars that suit all needs. The HAVAL Jolion is our most affordable model at 24.9 million dinars ($17,800), while the TANK 300 is the most expensive at 69.9 million dinars ($50,000).” He added that continuous discounts and comprehensive warranties “give customers peace of mind and confidence in their choice.”

Buyers told 964media they increasingly prefer company dealerships to private showrooms. “I’d rather buy directly from the company,” said customer Fadel Mutashar. “It guarantees genuine specifications, honest dealings, and lower prices. Installments are easier and cost less than in showrooms.”

Another buyer, Raed al-Janabi, said dealerships offer better protection and service. “We turn to companies because they provide warranties,” he said. “The variety of models is wide, and dealing with dealerships is much better than with showrooms.”
