Coordination Framework urges constructive campaigning, warns against vote-buying
BAGHDAD — The Coordination Framework, a coalition of Shia political parties that leads Iraq’s federal government, called on political forces and candidates Monday to conduct responsible campaigns and avoid personal attacks as the country prepares for its Nov. 11 parliamentary elections.
The statement followed the coalition’s regular meeting, held at the office of cleric and political leader Ammar Al-Hakim. It urged all parties to “present their programs away from defamation and targeting,” emphasizing that political competition should be focused on platforms and solutions rather than character assaults.
The group also warned against the misuse of financial influence to sway voters, calling for vigilance to prevent the purchase of votes or improper spending during the campaign period.
In addition, the Coordination Framework encouraged citizens to actively participate in the election, portraying the vote as an opportunity to shape Iraq’s future through democratic channels.
