Iraq’s parliament speaker discusses Palestinian issue with Iranian delegation

BAGHDAD, October 26 —  Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Halbousi met with a delegation from the Iranian Shura Council on Thursday to discuss events in Palestine and explore ways to end the war on Gaza.

A statement from Al-Halbousi’s office said he received a delegation from the Iranian Shura Council led by Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee, Mr. Ibrahim Azizi.

The statement further said the leaders discussed bilateral relations and a number of issues of mutual interest, as well as cooperation between the Iraqi Council of Representatives and the Iranian Shura Council on matters of concern to the Islamic community, particularly the Palestinian issue.
