Four family members killed in crash on Khanaqin–Jalawla road

DIYALA — Four members of the same family, including a six-month-old infant, were killed in a car crash on the Khanaqin–Jalawla road, according to local health officials. One person was injured.

Dr. Raad Awsi, director of Saadiya Hospital, told 964media the crash occurred near the Jalawla roundabout and involved two private vehicles, a Mercedes and a Tucson SUV.

“As a result, four people lost their lives and one was injured. All of them were members of the same family,” he said.

Awsi added that the injured individual was transferred to Jalawla Hospital due to the severity of their condition. “The bodies of the four deceased have been sent to Baqubah Hospital for necessary forensic procedures,” he said.

One of the vehicles caught fire and was completely destroyed in the blaze.
