Traffic Directorate to Hold License Plate Auction in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, May 28 — Iraq’s General Traffic Directorate announced it will hold a public auction for the sale of distinctive vehicle license plate numbers on Monday, June 2, 2025. The auction will take place at the directorate’s headquarters located behind Al-Shaab Stadium, starting at 10 a.m.

The announcement was made through an official statement obtained by 964media.

The list of special plate numbers includes private-use plates from various provinces such as Baghdad, Nineveh, Basra, Babil, Kirkuk, Karbala, Anbar, Diyala, and Muthanna. Notable entries include plates such as “L 88888” from Babil, “S 4444” from Basra, and “M 33000” from Baghdad.

The auction will be open to individuals interested in purchasing unique vehicle plate numbers.
