Al-Sudani, UK ambassador discuss economic ties and investment opportunities
BAGHDAD — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met Monday with British Ambassador to Iraq Irfan Siddiq to discuss areas of cooperation and the potential to expand economic relations under existing bilateral agreements.
According to a statement from the prime minister’s office, Al-Sudani spoke about Iraq’s focus on development and infrastructure, and the government’s efforts to improve service delivery. He pointed to possible partnerships between Iraqi institutions and British companies in various investment sectors.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani Meets with the British Ambassador to Iraq
Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today, Monday, with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Irfan Siddiq. The meeting reviewed avenues of mutual cooperation and efforts to strengthen the economic partnership in light of bilateral agreements and understandings between the two countries.
During the meeting, His Excellency highlighted Iraq’s current openness in the fields of development and infrastructure construction, as well as the state’s expanded capacity in service delivery. He pointed to the potential for cooperation between the public and private sectors and British companies across various investment activities.
Ambassador Irfan Siddiq affirmed his country’s desire to deepen cooperation and partnership with Iraq, and to pursue joint efforts in support of regional stability.
