Bodies of man and woman found with gunshot wounds near Tuz Khurmatu

SALAH AL-DIN — Security forces on Tuesday discovered the bodies of a man and a woman inside an abandoned structure near the “Jannat Al-Iraq” restaurant along the Kirkuk–Baghdad Road in Tuz Khurmatu district, authorities said.

Initial police reports identified the man as a 63-year-old resident of l-Azim district who had been living in the area for several years. The woman, estimated to be in her 40s, has not yet been identified. Both victims had sustained gunshot wounds.

A security source told 964media, “Preliminary investigations revealed the identity of the male victim. He was from the Al-Azim area and had lived locally for years, relying on agriculture as his main source of income.”

The source added that authorities have launched a wide-ranging investigation to determine the circumstances and motives behind the killings. The woman’s identity remains unknown.
