Hakim ‘invites’ US companies to invest in Iraq
BAGHDAD — Ammar Al-Hakim, head of the Hikma Movement, invited American companies to invest in Iraq during a meeting Thursday with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Daniel Rubinstein in Baghdad, highlighting what he described as “promising opportunities in all fields.”
In a statement from his media office, Hakim said that “we also highlighted the promising opportunities Iraq possesses in all fields and invited American companies to invest in these opportunities in a way that enhances the partnership between the two countries, supports the Iraqi economy, and contributes to the exchange of expertise.”

This afternoon, we met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Baghdad, His Excellency Mr. Daniel Rubinstein. The meeting addressed developments in local and regional situations and issues concerning the region.
We expressed our concern over the renewed aggression by the Israeli entity on Gaza and reiterated our call to strengthen security and peace through dialogue and the prioritization of reason, while avoiding wars and their dangerous consequences.
We affirmed that Iraq has a leading experience in combating terrorism and is capable of facing all security challenges. We also emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in a manner that serves the interests of both parties and preserves Iraq’s sovereignty and the independence of its decision-making.
We also highlighted the promising opportunities Iraq possesses in all fields and invited American companies to invest in these opportunities in a way that enhances the partnership between the two countries, supports the Iraqi economy, and contributes to the exchange of expertise. We affirmed Iraq’s keenness to develop its relations with the international community and its openness to the world.
