BAGHDAD, October 14 — Iraq’s Ministry of Oil announced the launch of a scholarship initiative for “elite” secondary school graduates from the 2022-2023 academic year, providing opportunities for up to 100 graduates to study at prestigious universities abroad.
Ministry spokesperson Asim Jihad stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing educational standards, nurturing national talent, and fostering graduates’ development.
The initiative offers promising graduates the opportunity to obtain bachelor’s degrees from renowned global universities, with the aim of strengthening managerial and technical capacities within Iraq’s oil sector. Eligible applicants must have achieved a minimum score of 95-percent for those from scientific branches and 90-percent for those from literary branches. Applicants will undergo interviews and testing by specialized committees.
