Driver killed after crashing into electricy pole in Basra
BASRA — A driver was killed Wednesday evening after his pickup vehicle veered off course and crashed into an electricity pole on the return route from the Shalamja border crossing toward Shatt Al-Arab district center, Basra governorate.
A local security source told 964media that the driver of a Nissan Navara lost control of the vehicle while ascending a bridge on the road linking Shalamja to Shatt Al-Arab, east of Basra.
The vehicle struck a high-voltage electricy pole, resulting in the driver’s immediate death.
