Young nurse found dead at Kut hospital where she worked
WASIT – A young nurse was found dead late Monday night in the ward where she worked at Al-Zahra Teaching Hospital in Kut, Wasit Governorate, according to hospital staff.
Rumors circulating on social media suggested suicide, but a hospital source speaking on condition of anonymity told 964media that the cause of death remains unconfirmed. The nurse’s body has been sent to forensic medicine for examination.
The source identified the deceased as B.R.M., approximately 25 years old, who worked in the infectious diseases ward and lived with her family in the Al-Kafaat neighborhood of Kut.
Hospital staff discovered her body in the ward late Monday night. “She had died shortly before being found,” the source said.
Claims that she took her own life are unverified, the source said, emphasizing that an autopsy will “determine the cause of death.”
Several of the nurse’s colleagues noted that she had been unwell. They reported that she arrived for duty earlier that day with an intravenous cannula in her hand.
