Young entrepreneurs launch mobile car wash service in Kut
KUT — Four young entrepreneurs in Kut, Wasit, have launched a car-washing service called “Wash Your Car at Home” to offer a convenient alternative to traditional car wash stations, according to project founder Jaafar Mahdi. The service primarily targets women in Kut, who often face difficulties visiting conventional car wash stations due to social norms, privacy concerns, and time constraints.
Mahdi said most of their work focuses on serving women in the city. “We are four young graduates from different fields,” he told 964media. “We started with very basic equipment and gradually improved it using original products from global brands.” He continued, “A considerable number of women in the city have responded positively to our project.”
The team has encountered challenges, particularly power outages. “One time, we had to wait for two hours due to electricity cuts,” Mahdi said. He added, “We hope to grow the business further so we can purchase a vehicle equipped with more necessary tools.”
Esraa Al-Shammari, a customer, said she was among the first to benefit from the service. “I was among the first to benefit from this simple project, as I used to feel uncomfortable going to car wash stations regularly,” she said. She continued, “I strongly support these young men and encourage the women of Kut to take advantage of what they offer. All they have to do is call, and their cars will be cleaned right where they are, without any hassle.”
