13 Injured in traffic incident near Tuz Khurmatu
SALAH AL-DIN — Thirteen members of a farming family were injured in a traffic incident near the Yankjah sub-district of Tuz Khurmatu in Salah Al-Din, officials said Monday.
Mohammed Juma, director of Tuz Khurmatu General Hospital, told 964media that the hospital’s emergency department treated all 13 individuals. “The injuries were caused by a traffic incident during the family’s return from their farmland, and all of them belong to the same family,” he said.
“Among the injured are women and children, and four of the more seriously injured have been transferred to Azadi Hospital [in Kirkuk] for advanced care,” Juma added.
According to information obtained by 964media, the family, who had visited their land earlier that day to check on their crops, was returning when the accident occurred near Yankjah in southern Tuz Khurmatu.
Local authorities are investigating the incident, and further details about the cause have yet to be released.
