Park draws families and young couples
Rescue Iraq Park: a popular attraction in Baghdad for families and youth
BAGHDAD, October 9 — The Rescue Iraq, or Rescue Iraqi Culture Park, located adjacent to Al-Zawraa Park in Baghdad, has transformed into one of the most popular attractions for Baghdad residents, including families, youth, and couples looking for peaceful evenings.
The park is known for its serene lighting and well-maintained green spaces, with continuous cleaning efforts to ensure a welcoming environment for visitors.
Baghdad residents now prefer spending their evenings in this 24-hour park because of its tranquility and the availability of seating areas, whether benches or on the grass.
The park welcomes all kinds of visitors and it benefits from security personnel nearby, ensuring a safe environment.
Many park visitors come to take photos with the Rescue Iraqi Culture monument, which depicts a human figure with five hands trying to erect a column with Mesopotamian script reading, “Here, writing began.” This sculpture is attributed to the renowned Iraqi sculptor Mohammed Ghani Hikmat.
Some park visitors shared their thoughts with 964:
“The weather these days is lovely, so the atmosphere here is beautiful. We used to visit the park at night during the summer, but now we come at any time and sometimes stay until morning.”
“We miss having green spaces in our neighborhoods, so we come to this park. We chat and enjoy hookah here, and there’s a person who rents bicycles in the park. The prices are reasonable.”
“The place is suitable for families and youth, and no one disturbs others. It’s also a great spot for couples, whether engaged or married, as they can sit and talk quietly without bothering anyone.”
“The presence of security personnel near the park makes it safe around the clock.”
