Police Shut Down Illegal Factory Producing Fake Branded Light Bulbs in Baghdad
Baghdad police shutter factory producing knock-off light bulbs
BAGHDAD — Authorities in Baghdad’s Rusafa district announced the closure of an unlicensed factory involved in industrial fraud, where fake brand labels were being affixed to packaging for light bulbs not available in the market.
In a statement issued Monday, the Rusafa Police said, “Under the supervision and follow-up of the Commander of Rusafa Police, patrols from the Al-Za’franiya emergency units successfully shut down an unlicensed factory producing light bulbs.”
The factory, located on Shari’ Al-Sharikah in Al-Za’franiya, was found to be using counterfeit branding on its products.
Authorities confirmed that the factory has been closed, and its owner has been handed over to the appropriate legal authorities.
