Former waste land transformed into green oasis with the inauguration of Al-Anwa Park

SALAH AL-DIN — The central city of Salah Al-Din Governorate, Tikrit, inaugurated Al-Anwa Park on Sunday evening, unveiling a recreational space spanning approximately 1.2 acres. The park features illuminated sculptures of deer and birds, wooden seating areas, and vibrant landscaping. It was developed on land that was previously barren and used as a waste dump.

Nasif Jasim, Director of Tikrit Municipality, told 964media, “The city of Tikrit is proud to open one of its largest green spaces at the southern entrance, implemented by the municipality with the latest engineering designs.”.

Jasim added that the municipality’s 2025 plan focuses on expanding green areas across the city and renovating older parks. “Another large park is set to open soon in the Al-Kafa’at neighborhood within Tikrit,” he revealed.

Mahmoud Al-Ajeeli, Deputy Director of Tikrit Municipality, emphasized the park’s significance: “This park is among the largest in Tikrit, spanning an area of approximately 1.2 acres. Work began in May on land that was previously a waste site.”

He highlighted the park’s features, including wooden seating benches and illuminated sculptures.
