Students and artists breathe new life into Balad’s walls with colorful murals
SALAH AL-DIN — Students from the Institute of Fine Arts, in collaboration with a group of visual artists, have launched an artistic initiative in Balad, Salah Al-Din province, transforming the dull walls of public institutions and schools into vibrant murals.
The project, which included locations such as Balad Public Hospital, the Youth Forum, and various institutes and schools in the city, features colorful, symbolizing national and educational themes. The initiative was supervised by prominent artists, including Saad Al-Haddad, Najeh Ayash, Ahmed Al-Ghazali, Hassan Al-Asmar, and Luqman Al-Rubaie.
Artist Hassan Al-Asmar told 964media that over ten days, the walls of ten institutions were painted and adorned with artistic murals. Students actively participated in the project under the guidance of experienced artists and calligraphers.
The initiative not only enhanced the city’s aesthetics but also provided a platform for artists to express their artistic talents.
Saad Al-Haddad, a faculty member at the Institute of Fine Arts, highlighted the participation of 75 students from various departments, including painting, sculpture, calligraphy, and even theatrical arts.
“A number of talented volunteers from the city of Balad also joined in contributing to this artistic project,” he added.
