Al-Sudani, Al-Abadi meet for discussions on economic reforms, security, and border stability
BAGHDAD — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with former PM Haider Al-Abadi, on Saturday in Baghdad to discuss Iraq’s progress on economic reforms, poverty alleviation, and infrastructure development. The leaders also reviewed Syria’s recent developments which led to the fall of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime, potential security challenges, and measures to bolster Iraq’s border security and protect national stability, according to a statement from the prime minister’s media office.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today, Saturday, the Head of Al-Nasr Coalition, Mr. Haider Al-Abadi.
The meeting discussed the overall situation in the country and emphasized the importance of supporting the government in implementing its strategic plans, which have already achieved significant progress. These plans particularly focus on economic reforms, poverty alleviation, enhancing service delivery, combating corruption, and completing infrastructure projects, all of which align with the government’s program.
The discussions also covered the latest developments in Syria, potential security challenges, and the measures taken by the government to secure Iraq’s borders, strengthen the capabilities of its security forces, and safeguard the country’s security and the stability of its people.
