Iraqi postal stamp honors poet Nazik Al-Malaika

BAGHDAD, September 30 — The Ministry of Communications announced on Saturday the issuance of an Iraqi postal stamp in honor of the poet Nazik Al-Malaika as part of the Iraq International Digital Transformation Exhibition (ITEX).

A statement from the ministry received by Network 964 read:

“The General Company for Post and Savings, one of the formations of the Ministry of Communications, participated in the Iraq International Digital Transformation Exhibition for Information and Communication Technology (ITEX). Under the guidance and supervision of Her Excellency the Minister of Communications, Dr. Hayam Al-Yassiri, the Iraqi Post issued a postage stamp commemorating the Iraqi poet Nazik Al-Malaika on the occasion of her birthday. The stamp is composed of two denominations, the first with a value of 750 dinars, and the second with a value of 1250 dinars, with a quantity of twenty thousand stamps for each denomination. It is worth noting that the Iraqi Post continuously seeks to document religious, cultural, and social events that embody the history and heritage of our beloved country.”
