16-year-old student fatally stabbed in altercation at Mosul school
NINEVEH — A violent altercation at Al-Faris Al-Arabi Evening School in Mosul’s Al-Mamoun district on Wednesday evening led to the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old by a fellow student. Another student was critically injured and is in serious condition at a local hospital.
A delegation from the Ministry of Education, led by Deputy Minister for Technical Affairs Hussein Sabri Al-Lami, extended condolences to the victim’s family on behalf of the ministry. “The Ministry of Education expresses its deep sympathy to the family of Mohammed Sabah, who lost his life in a tragic altercation with a classmate,” read the ministry’s statement.
The ministry also announced an urgent investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident and promised severe consequences for any administrative shortcomings.
