Iraqi oil ministry rehabilitates Beiji-Mushahada pipeline

BAGHDAD – Deputy Oil Minister for Distribution Affairs Ali Maarij announced the successful restoration of the 196-kilometer Beiji-Mushahada oil product pipeline.

For his part, Ali Al-Moussawi, General Manager of the Oil Pipelines Company, noted that the pipeline had been out of service for over ten years.

The completed pipeline will now enhance the efficient transportation of oil products from the Al-Samoud/Beiji pumping station to the Mushahada oil depot, with an operational capacity of 5,000 cubic meters per day. Both Beiji and Mushahada are located in the Salah Al-Din governorate, north of Baghdad.

The Beiji refinery sustained major damage during the military campaign against the Islamic State over the past decade and had been out of operation due to the looting and sale of key parts both inside and outside Iraq.

Al-Moussawi emphasized the significance of this project in improving the logistics and distribution of oil products across the region.
