Memorial service held for students killed in Kalar minibus crash
GARMIYAN – A memorial service was held in Kalar on Wednesday for four students who died in a minibus crash on the Kalar-Kifri road.
The crash occurred on May 14 when a minibus transporting high school students from a scientific field trip to the nearby city of Kifri overturned on their return journey. The crash claimed the lives of Dania Ahmad Latif, Kawser Ahmad Latif, Sham Saman, and Arazu Sardar. Five other students, their teacher, and the driver sustained injuries.
Ahmad Latif, who lost his twin daughters in the accident, expressed his sorrow to 964media. “After my daughters left, everything in our home changed. They were born on the same day and died together on the same day,” he said.
“My daughters are martyrs of the path to knowledge. We hope this incident serves as a lesson for everyone, so that such a tragedy never happens again.”
Sana Saman, grieving the loss of her sister, shared with 964media, “On the day of the accident, I wanted to go with them, but their teachers did not allow it. That was the last time I saw my sister.
“Now, I do not feel like I am living my life. After my sister’s passing, nothing feels the same. We used to be together at nights, but now I am alone.”
