Out of 231 cats competing
Six-month-old Scottish cat wins top prize at Sulaymaniyah feline beauty contest
SULAYMANIYAH – A feline beauty contest took place on Monday at the Royal Veterinary Hospital in Sulaymaniyah, drawing 231 cats primarily showcased by local women and girls. The judging panel awarded the top prize to “Milo,” a six-month-old Scottish cat.
“Today, our cat topped 231 cats and became the champion,” said Alan Mohammed, Milo’s owner, in an interview with 964media.
Another participant shared that she had ten cats in addition to the one she brought to the contest. Commenting on the joys and challenges of raising cats, she said, “Raising them is a bit challenging, but it’s enjoyable, especially when they curl up on your lap and you can relax with them. It’s always pleasant to be around cats.”
A contestant with a four-year-old cat remarked, “Cats become calmer and less active as they age.” She added, “To me, a cat represents unconditional love. I have had mine for four years and care for it without expecting anything in return. For instance, when we raise children, we anticipate they will grow up and take care of us in return. But with pets, there are no such expectations—only love.”
