High-ranking peshmerga officer found dead in car

ERBIL – The body of Muhsin Rashid, a high-ranking Kurdish Peshmerga officer, was found in his car with gunshot wounds. Rashid was also the husband of Vian Sabri, head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) faction in the Iraqi Parliament.

Officials have not yet confirmed whether the incident was a murder or suicide, and the body has been sent to the forensic medical center for investigation.

A 964media correspondent at the forensic medical center in Erbil reported that Rashid’s family is present, awaiting the return of his body and the results of the investigation. Family members have stated they do not yet know the nature of the incident and have not provided any further details.
