Spiritual moves performed by the followers of Jalal Al-Din Rumi in Sulaymaniyah
SULAYMANIYAH, April 8 — During the nights of Ramadan, the “View Lounge” restaurant in Sulaymaniyah offered customers the opportunity to learn about the “Mevlevi dances” practiced by the followers of the renowned Sufi scholar, Jalal Al-Din Rumi.
A young man from Syria who performed the dance explained that it consists of four moves, with each moves holding a symbolic significance that shapes the relationship between devotees and God through the practice of “Sufism”.
