Baghdad and Najaf airports achieve record flight numbers

BAGHDAD – Baghdad and Najaf international airports recorded unprecedented numbers of flights over the past four days of Eid al-Adha, the Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday.

From Friday through Monday, Baghdad International Airport averaged 76 flights on Friday, 77 on Saturday, and 79 on both Sunday and Monday, marking a more than 20% increase compared to normal. The previous record was 75 flights on March 15 this year.

Najaf International Airport also experienced a significant surge, with 25 flights on both Wednesday and Thursday, 27 on Friday, 29 on both Saturday and Sunday, and 27 on Monday. This represents an increase of more than 60%, as the number of daily flights typically does not exceed 18 on regular days.
