Iraq offers condolences and assistance to Morocco following earthquake
BAGHDAD, September 9 — Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani expressed his condolences to the victims of the earthquake that struck several cities in Morocco on Saturday. He conveyed these condolences through a letter sent to King Mohammed VI of Morocco and affirmed Iraq’s readiness to provide assistance.
A statement from the office of Prime Minister Al-Sudani, received by Network 964, read:
“Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani extends his condolences to the victims of the earthquake that struck several cities in Morocco. He emphasizes Iraq’s solidarity as a government and people with the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco. He also announces readiness to provide all forms of assistance to address the consequences of the devastating earthquake that hit several Moroccan cities yesterday, leaving thousands of victims and injured individuals, as well as significant material damage.
In his telegram to King Mohammed VI, Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy for the families of the victims. He also conveyed his wishes for the swift recovery of the injured and the safety and security of the Kingdom and its people.”
