Samawah residents raise funds for taxi driver after car fire

SAMAWAH — The youth of Samawah raised over 5 million dinars ($3,815) to aid a taxi driver whose car was damaged in a fire earlier today.

The fundraising effort took place in the city center, where volunteers collected donations from local residents and passing drivers.

Ahmed Amer, one of the campaign participants, told 964media, “The car caught fire this morning in the Qishla area of central Samawah and was entirely damaged.”

“We organized the collection to help the driver buy a new car or repair the burned one, as it is his only source of income,” he added.
