Iraq wins best performance award at Arab School Theater festival in Jordan

NEWSROOM — Iraq won the Best Performance Award at the Arab School Theater Festival in Jordan today. The country was represented by a delegation from Dar Al-Zahra Orphanage School in Najaf, performing the play “Another Night’s Kitchen.” Actors Zaid Ahmed and Mehdi Sabah shared the Best Actor Award, competing against participants from six Arab countries.

“The first Arab School Theater Festival was held in Amman, the capital of Jordan, with participation from six countries: Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE,” playwright Ammar Saif told 964media.

Iraq’s entry, “Another Night’s Kitchen,” was written by Saif, directed by Haitham Al-Rifai, supervised by Haider Majhool, and performed by Zaid Ahmed and Mehdi Sabah, who jointly won the Best Actor Award at the festival.
