Resorts in Raparin district warned against price gouging
RAPARIN, July 26 — The Directorate of Tourism in Sulaymaniyah’s Raparin district warned area hotels and campgrounds against price gouging, adding that operators could face fines or closure for repeat offenses.
Aram Beiruty, Director of Tourism in Raparin, spoke to 964, and said rates for cabins and tents in the region are determined by the regional tourism authority, which works to ensure that owners comply with the determined fees.
The rental price for small cabins ranges between 12,000 and 15,000 Iraqi dinars, while the price for larger cabins is between 15,000 and 20,000 dinars.
Additionally, the parking fees for cars range from 1,500 to 2,000 dinars, while the fees for small buses are between 2,000 and 3,000 dinars. For larger buses, the fees range from 3,000 to 5,000 dinars.
“Any place that fails to comply with the regulations will first be fined, and if the non-compliance is repeated, the place will be closed,” Beiruty said.
