Iraq’s foreign ministry marks 20th anniversary of UN bombing in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, August 19 — Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs marked World Humanitarian Day on Saturday, recalling the 20th anniversary of the United Nations office bombing in Baghdad in 2003.

In a statement received by 964, the Ministry said:

The Ministry expressed its solidarity with the United Nations and its agencies on the 20th anniversary of the explosion at its headquarters in Baghdad in 2003.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that terrorism targets all of us, and it is our collective responsibility to show solidarity in confronting it.
