Anbar council postpones governor vote, reopens nominations
ANBAR — The Anbar Provincial Council decided on Monday to adjourn its session to 6 p.m., following the cancellation of the vote to elect Mohammed Nouri Al-Karbouli as governor.
Earlier in the day, the council had voted to appoint Omar Mashan Al-Dulaimi as the council president and then selected Mohammed Nouri Al-Karbouli for governor.
However, the vote for the governor’s position was later nullified, leading to the reopening of nominations for both the governor and deputy governors’ positions.
