Fire extinguished at Rasti secondary school in Kirkuk

KIRKUK, January 31 – Civil Defense teams in Kirkuk successfully extinguished a fire that broke out in Rasti Secondary School’s administration room, located in the central Military District. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Ahmed Sami, spokesperson for the Kirkuk General Directorate of Education, told 964media, “The fire started in the administration room of Rasti Secondary School, and the cause is still unclear. The building houses two secondary schools, Rasti and Darbaz, which operate in morning and evening shifts. Thankfully, Darbaz Secondary School’s administration room was not affected.”

Nabz Rustam, spokesperson for Kurdish Education at the Kirkuk Directorate, also spoke to 964media, stating, “There were no casualties, as the fire began early in the morning, before official school hours. I remained on site until the Civil Defense teams in Kirkuk completely extinguished the fire.”
