Salary delays
Kalar technical college staff on strike
KALAR, January 31 — Faculty at the Technical College of Kalar began a boycott today, refraining from work and not entering classrooms.
Affiliated with Garmiyan Polytechnic University, the college has eight departments.
Araz Abdul Karim, director of administration and self-management at the university, told 964media no staff from the college reported to work today, protesting delayed salaries.
Karim added that only two departments had finals scheduled, with a few employees supervising. He confirmed no other classes were held.
“We will not return to work or resume teaching until our salaries are paid,” Karim said.
The boycott at the Technical College of Kalar occurs alongside similar actions at Shahid Sheray Naqib Hospital and Kalar General Hospital. This marks a significant protest by public sector workers in the region against delayed salary payments.
