Drug traffickers arrested in Baghdad and Maysan governorates
BAGHDAD, January 31 – Iraqi authorities are continuing their crackdown on drug trafficking across the country, with officials announcing on Wednesday the arrest of 10 suspects in Baghdad found with a kilogram of crystal meth.
In a statement received by 964media, the drug affairs directorate said anti-drug forces dismantled a trafficking network, arresting the suspects and seizing a cache of drugs and weapons in Baghdad’s Al-Karkh district.
In a related operation in Maysan governorate, anti-drug authorities there also caught an unspecified number of suspects also in possession of a kilogram of meth.
