Two suspects apprehended
One million Captagon pills siezed in Sulaymaniyah
SULAYMANIYAH, January 25 — The Kurdistan Region Security Agency seized a drug cache of one million Captagon pills in Sulaymaniyah on Thursday, as revealed by the governorate’s security spokesman Salam Abdulkhaliq.
Abdulkhaliq told 964media that forces confiscated the pills as two foreign individuals transported the drugs in a truck.
The suspects were arrested under Article 26 of the 2020 Drug Code.
Sulaymaniyah security forces reported a total of 991 drug-related arrests in 2023 as authorities continue a crackdown on drug trade across the country.
